Breaking The Sound Barrier

Breaking The Sound Barrier is an historical documentary presented by John Suchet (ITN) showing a fascinating journey through more than two hundred years of the Royal School for Deaf Children Margate, which is the oldest public institution for the education of deaf children in Britain, starting way back in 1792.

This programme contains archive material in the form of hundreds of stills and film, as well as signed interviews and footage shot on location around the schools old sites. The video has subtitles for the hard of hearing and sign language interpretation for the deaf. Breaking The Sound Barrier was also featured on BBC’s See Hear.
